a. Start out with a file 6 x 2 in file at 72 dpi.

b. Pick out a a thick font that. The font I used is called esp you can get it here:

http://www.typenow.net/

c. Make the text about this size, and a medium grey color.

a. Apply this layer style to your text layer.

a. Now make a new layer and position it under the text layer, then click on the text layer and go to Layer>Merge Down or just hit Ctrl + E.

a. Go to Image>Adjustments>Curves... or hit Ctrl + M.

a. Apply these layer styles to your text layer

a. Now we are going to apply 2 gradient maps to our text layer. If you haven't worked with gradients much in the past you will probably need to load a couple of gradient presets into your gradient library.

b. To do this go to Edit>Preset Manager...

c. Choose Gradients from the dropdown menu, then hit the load button. You will get a file browser window, load the Metals preset and the Special Effects presets.

d. After you have loaded those presets close the preset manager window and click on the button on the layers pallete that says "Create new fill or adjustment layer" when you hold the mouse over it.

a. From the menu that comes up choose Gradient Map. Click on the arrow on the side of the gradient to choose from your presets. Select the Silver gradient I have selected in the picture.

b. Hit ok then add another gradient map.

c. This time before you click on the arrow to select your gradient make sure the reverse option is checked.

d. After you check reversed, click on the arrow on the side of the gradient and pick this gradient called Shiny Sphere.
