a. Make a new layer, call this one "Rings"

b. Hit D to reset your colors to black and white.Go to Filter>Render>Clouds.

a.Next go to Filter>Distort>Twirl...

b.To these settings.

c. When you have done that, hit Ctrl + F to repeat the filter

 

 

-Your image should now look like this

a. Next Select the Circular Marquee tool

b. Set the Feather of the tool to 20. Like this.

a.Make a circular selection in the center of your image using the grid to make sure its centered. Fill it with black. (Alt + Backspace) Fill it a couple times, with the feather each time you fill it the black will spread a little more. Experiment until your image looks like this.

a. Next make a selection of the entire circle, and go to Select>Inverse to select the outer edges of the image.

b. Fill your selection with black a few times.

a.Now change the "Rings" layer's blend mode to Screen. This makes the black on the layer see through.

b. Next go to Edit>Transform>Perpective.

c. Make the layer looks something like this, you want the black hole in the middle of the rings to be bigger than the planet at its widest point.

 

16. After you have transformed your ring, rotate it about 35-45 degrees with the move tool.

a. Hold Ctrl and click on the Planet Layer this will select the shape of the planet. Next with the lasso tool, hold Alt and subtract from the selection until it looks about like this, the point is to erase the rings that go behind the planet.

b. After you have your selection, hit delete and clear the area.

c. Add some color to the rings layers with Hue/Saturation.

 

 

 

-Your final product should look like this. You can use different colors to get a different effect or make an entirely different texture for the surface of the planet.
