a. Open the brush tool and select this brush from the list, then change the Master Diameter of the brush to 50 pixels.

b. Now make a new layer.

a. Select the path tool (P). Make a path similar to this. It doesn't need to be exactly like this, but the important thing is that only the second half of the path is on the canvas and that it intersects with the text a little bit.

b. Now select the Path Selection Tool (A) and right click on the image. Select Stroke Path from the menu that comes up. Use these options:

c. You can see now why it's important for the path to enter the work area halfway through. The line tapirs from the end to the middle, so we want the line at its widest on the edge of the screen. Anyway after you stroke the path hit the check box in the top right corner to Dismiss the path.

a. Make another 1 or 2 tentacles, each on it's own layer.

a. Apply these layer styles to you tentacle layers.

b. If you apply the styles to one layer you can drag and drop the effects to other layers. Give it a try.

a. Make a new layer under each of the tentacle layers. Then merge them down to merge the layer styles with the images.

a. Go to Image>Adjustments>Curves... or hit Ctrl + M. Do this on each one of the tentacle layers.

b. Apply these layer styles to the text layer.
