Make a shiny metal web, makes a great tech themed background. |

a. Start out with a 400 x 400 px image, 72 dpi and RGB color.
b.Switch over to the Channels Pallete by clicking on the Channels Tab in the Layers Pallete.
c. Make a new channel by clicking on the New Channel button:
d. Go to Filter>Render>Clouds.

a. Go to Filter>Pixelate>Crystalize...
use these settings:
Cell Size: 80%
b. Go to Filter>Stylize>Find Edges
c. Go to Image>Adjustments>Levels... or hit Ctrl + L.
use these settings:

a. Go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur...
use these settings:
Radius: 7.5 pixels
b. Go to Image>Adjustments>Levels... or hit Ctrl + L.
use these settings:

-The idea is to harden the edge, but beware of making it too sharp. Stop before the edges become jagged.

a. Hit Ctrl + I to invert the colors.
b. Hold Ctrl and click on the alpha 1 channel to load its selection.
c. Go back to the layers pallete and make a new layer by hitting the new layer button
d. Choose a medium grey color from the color picker then hit alt + backspace to fill the selection with the grey you have chosen.
e. Hit Ctrl + D to deselect.

a. Apply this layer style.

a. Now make a new layer and position it under the text layer, then click on the text layer and go to Layer>Merge Down or just hit Ctrl + E.

a. Go to Image>Adjustments>Curves... or hit Ctrl + M.
|
|

a. Apply these layer styles to your web layer
|
|
|
Your image should look like this now, make a 'techy' background and put it in behind to complete the effect.
